Sitting just east of downtown Hamilton, Stoney Creek is a community known for its picturesque beauty and historic “Old Town,” located beneath the Niagara Escarpment. In 2001, it became part of the City of Hamilton. Like most of the surrounding areas, Stoney Creek is largely agricultural and home to a lot of Ontario’s fruit growers. Each year, the town celebrates the importance of farming to local communities at the Winona Peach Festival. Thanks to the growth of local fruit production, the area is now also considered to be part of the Niagara wine region.
Served by the QEW, living in Stoney Creek not only provides quick, direct access to downtown Hamilton, but also a direct route to the GTA via the Burlington Skyway bridge. Because of this and the fact that Stoney Creek is viewed as a great place to raise a family, the commuter population continues to grow.
